As an athlete, you may be familiar with common injuries including ACL tears, sprained ankles, muscle strains, stress fractures, and concussions. In certain sports, athletes are provided protective equipment to help prevent them from sustaining some of these injuries. However, as we continue to see a rise in the number of physical activities our athletes are participating in, we are concurrently seeing an increase in the amount of injuries sustained.
At Milwaukee Movement, it is our goal to reduce the risk of injury for each of our athletes by taking a sports medicine approach and applying it to our sports performance training. Each session is designed specifically for the athlete by focusing on sports injury prevention. During training, our athletes are taught the proper mechanics for sport specific movements while also being provided injury prevention tips, so that they are able to take the information learned and apply it to competition outside of Milwaukee Movement. We believe that the leading cause of injury in our athletes is a lack of education resulting in overtraining of the same movement patterns later causing muscle imbalances that results in an injured athlete.
